Chaldean vs Pythagorean: Two Different Answers

This is the first thing most articles leave out, and it explains why two websites can give you two different name numbers. There are two common systems for turning letters into numbers, and they use different values.

The Pythagorean system numbers the alphabet in order from 1 to 9 and then starts again: A is 1, I is 9, J is 1 again. It is simple and most Western tools use it.

The Chaldean system assigns values by sound rather than by alphabet position, and it never gives any letter the value 9, since 9 is treated as sacred. Most Indian numerologists who do name correction use Chaldean values.

Neither system is "wrong." They are two traditions. What matters is that you use one system consistently and do not mix values from both.
