Matangi 3x3 Yantra (मातंगी 3x3 यंत्र) is a sacred 3x3 inch copper Yantra of Maa Matangi, the ninth Mahavidya and the Tantric counterpart of Saraswati, worshipped as the goddess of speech, music, inner knowledge and mastery over the spoken word. The 3x3 inch plate carries her bija grid within the triangle and lotus enclosure, sized for a settled place on a sadhana altar or a musician's and speaker's puja shelf. According to the Mahavidya Tantras and the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra tradition of Budh remedies, her upasana is held to give command over speech and argument, deepen skill in music, dance and the fine arts, sharpen memory for texts and mantras, remove hesitation and stage fear, resolve disputes through the strength of words rather than conflict, and support scholars, performers and negotiators in their work. It is particularly beneficial for singers, instrumentalists and dancers, orators, teachers and lawyers, writers, poets and translators, students of Sanskrit and shastra, people whose careers depend on negotiation and persuasion, and those with a weak or afflicted Mercury in the birth chart. Place the Yantra in the north or west of your sadhana room or study on a clean dark green cloth on a Friday or Wednesday evening.
