Mahalaxmi 3x3 Yantra (महालक्ष्मी 3x3 यंत्र) is a sacred 3x3 inch copper Yantra of Maa Mahalakshmi, the Devi of wealth in its complete sense, which in Vedic thought includes health, food, good conduct, progeny and reputation alongside money. She is worshipped as the giver of ashta lakshmi, the eight forms of abundance. The 3x3 inch copper plate carries her lotus mandala with the Shreem beeja at the centre and is installed to hold that abundance in a household. According to the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and the Lakshmi upasana tradition, her worship is believed to bring a steady rather than erratic flow of income, freedom from a habit of unnecessary spending, plenty in the kitchen and the storeroom, dignity and good name in society, harmony that keeps prosperity from being wasted in quarrels, and relief from constant anxiety about money. It is particularly beneficial for homemakers responsible for the household budget, families rebuilding after a financial setback, salaried people who cannot save, traders and shop owners, newly married couples setting up a home, and natives with an afflicted Shukra or a weak second house. Install it in the north of the house on a red or pink cloth on a Friday morning, or on Diwali or Varalakshmi Vrat. Energize it with lotus flowers, kamalgatta, kheer, a ghee lamp and 108 recitations.
