Katyayani 3x3 Yantra (कात्यायनी 3x3 यंत्र) is a sacred 3x3 inch copper Yantra of Maa Katyayani, the sixth of the nine Navadurgas, born in the ashram of sage Katyayana and worshipped on the sixth night of Navratri as the warrior form who slew Mahishasura. She rides a lion, carries the sword and lotus, and is the Devi of decisive action. The 3x3 inch copper plate carries her Navadurga mandala and beeja. According to the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and the Navadurga upasana tradition, her worship is believed to build courage in a person who has become hesitant, cool the destructive side of an overheated Mangal, support recovery of energy after a long illness, protect from injury and accident, break a habit of postponing confrontation, and bring the resolve needed to finish what has been started. It is particularly beneficial for people observing the nine-night Navratri sequence, Aries and Scorpio natives, athletes and those in physically demanding work, people recovering their strength after a difficult year, those with an afflicted or debilitated Mars, and anyone who avoids necessary decisions. Install it in the north-east or east of the puja room on a red cloth on a Tuesday morning or on Navratri Shashti. Energize it with honey, red flowers, a ghee lamp and 108 recitations.
