Ekakshi Nariyal (एकाक्षी नारियल) — also known in folk tradition as the "One Eye One Mouth" coconut (एक आँख एक मुख) — is a rare and sacred single-eyed coconut, a naturally formed coconut with only one of the three usual "eyes" or germination pores visible and the central mouth-like opening prominent, making it one of the most spiritually prized coconuts in Hindu tradition. According to the shastras, the single-eyed coconut is the form in which the cosmic wish-fulfilling tree (Kalpavriksha) of the devas appears on earth, and it is especially dear to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha. The single eye represents the focused, one-pointed attention needed to manifest desires, and worshipping Ekakshi Nariyal is believed to fulfil specific wishes, especially those related to wealth, progeny, and removal of obstacles. The Ekakshi Nariyal is traditionally used in special pujas including Lakshmi Puja during Diwali, Ganesh Puja, and Navratri, where it is placed on a red cloth alongside supari, kumkum, and coins as the central offering to the deity. The coconut is also believed to pacify malefic planetary influences, especially those of Rahu and Ketu, and is used in remedial pujas for the Navagrahas.
