Hariyali Teej fast story
According to mythological beliefs, Mother Parvati took birth on earth 107 times to get Lord Shiva as her husband, but even once she could not get Bholenath as her husband. After being born 107 times, when Mother Parvati was born for the 108th time in the house of Parvatraj Himalaya, she did a very difficult penance to get Bholenath as her husband. In this difficult penance, Mother Parvati gave up food and water and did penance to Bholenath by consuming dry leaves. Mother Parvati’s father was very angry seeing her in such a condition. Mother Parvati did severe penance for Bholenath inside a cave. In the month of Bhadrapada, on the third Shukla Paksha Tithi, Mother Parvati did penance for Bholenath by making a Shivling out of sand. Pleased with the hard penance of Mother Parvati, Bholenath gave her the boon of fulfilling her wishes. Since then it is believed that any woman who fasts and worships on this day with full devotion and faith, gets unbroken good fortune.
